although i don't worship at the alter of jawbreaker like many disciples, i enjoy their musical stylings and wouldn't mind going to see them for free or a relatively low price

Every year I think about going to riot fest, but it never happens.

I don't see an end to this pattern.

Jawbreaker and NIN at the same fest... someone found my high school playlist

Time to dust off the Halos and head out! If they could get Rage Against the Machine to reunite and come I would sell my soul to go to that show. That would be my high school playlist come to life minus Nirvana and Green Day and I don't care to see Green Day anymore. I caught them right before they jumped the shark.

Having said that, I'd rather listen to Papa Roach than GG Allin

disappointed that Jawbreaker isn't reuniting after reading thread title. I don't know why they wouldn't to just tour occasionally. They seem to all be friends. Do they not like easy money?

But they are reuniting, they're just not making new music

they'll def tour after this. they just can't say that because it'll stop people from buying tickets to a show that they assume will be the only jawbreaker show ever. so everyone will make a bunch of money from riotfest and then they'll be able to make a bunch more and maybe they'll put out another album or something.. maybe. but even if they do i dunno if it would be good because i personally thought almost all the post jawbreaker music by all parties was terrible.

Dang just looked at the line-up for this year's RF. That's quite the list of heavy hitters.

I wish I was a young man and I'd go though it's weird because the main attractions would be more exciting for people around my age.

to be perfectly honest i'd have preferred to have seen the Misfits play the prior one. Whether you love em or hate em (although i find it difficult for someone to genuinely HATE the misfits.. they're pretty fucking awesome as far as everything goes.. the whole over the top theatrics, Elvis impersonating, Devil-lock which is a creepy spin-off of the 1950s type of greaser look, just the whole fucking package.. not to mention really cool horror themed punk ala Alice Cooper, Screaming Jay Hawkins).. i believe i've made my point though so i'll wrap it up

Uncle

So ive gone to Riot Fest the last 4 years and I really love it. Big outdoor fests arent for everyone. But if youre considering it then you should go for it.

ramblinrabble

How is the new location?  I was thinking about going this year and know nothing about Chicago.

Uncle

Basically just a boatload of open grass. I had no problems with the location. Me and a few friends usually cram into a rental and drive up there so I dont really know much about the location, but i really had no issues with it. I felt safe. The only thing is that if youre not super early each day, then you have to find street parking and you might end up with a lengthy walk.
