Did that happen? ^ I thought Brett just changed it from terrific boners and... big bear? something like that. What happened to DS13punk and Captain Sparrow and everyone else that got bounced?

I watched Get Out and Moana last week and immensely enjoyed both.

Ahh both were great!

There's been some excellent stuff coming out lately. I've been going to the movies more this year than in years

Haven't listened to them in ages. I should get back into them. So good. How was the show?

Nirvana.
Alice in Chains is pretty cool too. I heard Screaming Trees is good but I've never heard them. Can't stand most grunge though.

I never knew anything about his band other than that I didn't like the way they spelled their name. I would have definitely listened had I known what they were supposedly about before now. I'm glad I didn't now. I feel terrible for all the victims of that awful dude. Glad he's not getting away with it any longer.

they're playing Riot Fest, but nothing else has been announced.
Dang just looked at the line-up for this year's RF. That's quite the list of heavy hitters.

I'm a big fan of "Do your Googles!" when telling people to learn some shit about shit.  I look forward to the day when it is popular to be sick of it.
I've never heard such a thing.

It seems to me that "real talk" evolved or changed to "100" or "keepin' it 100". I live in a very rural area so I don't hear a lot of current slang. I hear kids saying "legit" a lot which is kind of annoying but also kind of funny because it makes me feel like if I played Too Legit to Quit by MC Hammer, it would sound somewhat contemporary
legit started in like 2007. it stopped being a slang word and just became a regular part of everyone's vocabulary. Like what happened with
OK in the 1830's

disappointed that Jawbreaker isn't reuniting after reading thread title. I don't know why they wouldn't to just tour occasionally. They seem to all be friends. Do they not like easy money?

Borat.
Not wild about Borat, but I'll take any opportunity to post Sacha Baron Cohen as Ali G interviewing Noam Chomsky

it's basically the new version of YOU GO GIRL!

just like everything good, black girls created it, gay men stole it, and then pop culture caught on and ruined it
the truest statement ever written

I thought you were doing fine Brett, I wouldn't have known haha. I refuse to watch any of his new stuff just to not give Netflix the analytics data. I suppose considering you can rate the material and could give it a low rating that's maybe even better than boycotting the special but I'm not trying to give any money, fame, clicks, or support to people with that attitude. Everything I've heard is precisely what you guys are saying that it's really regressive and offensive, and even if you can look at it objectively it overall isn't that good.

I'll never forget a girl I had a crush on in high school saying about Ron Paul "he's a libertarian, he's basically an anarchist." Vibe killer.

Which is another thing as Jer sort of pointed out in the terrible music thread about Frank Turner, is that some really young punks (8th grade ish?) get into libertarianism via punk while still trying to figure out what all these political words mean (at least anecdotally for me was the case with kids I knew, like that girl). Most grow out of it once they just learn some shit about how the world works (which she did).

"tolerance of LGBTQA people" check!

lipservice to tolerance of LGBTQA people.

in practice, US libertarianism has been pretty awful to that community.
100%! They suck. I tried to say that by putting those two ideas in quotes, that they aren't actually true but are supposedly part of their ideology, or as you put it much better, "lipservice".
