These come to mind off the top of my head. I'm not very good at this. Or at anything.
That BTMI song is perfect, thank you.
My best friend since I was 7 cut me out of her life with no warning and no explanation. It sucks. I need some sad music about it.
Father and son. - car stevens.
Father's and sons are kinda like a friendship when you really think about it.. right?
It's a beautiful, catchy song
Cat stevens. Not car stevens (fucking auto type robots)
Or....
2/99 Jimmy Eat World – "For Me This Is Heaven" (from Clarity)
It might be hard to imagine now, but once upon a time, Jimmy Eat World was a young band struggling to break out of their underground roots and into the mainstream. Clarity, their third LP and second release with Capitol, was meant to do just that, but despite having a lead single ("Lucky Denver Mint") featured as the theme of Drew Barrymore's Never Been Kissed, the record never reached the kind of cultural immersion it wanted. In underground circles, however, Clarity was heralded as a masterpiece, the new high-water mark of pop-oriented emo. And while each of its 13 songs resonated about as strongly as the others, "For Me This Is Heaven" epitomizes the album's lush, astral arrangements, youthful romanticism, and subtly nuanced production from Mark Trombino. It also framed the kind of tender longing that emo has long obsessed over with one of the genre's finest lyrical stanzas: "When the time we have now ends/ And when the big hand goes round again/ Can you still feel the butterflies?/ Can you still hear the last goodnight?"
This song may be more romantic relationship based, but if you want to feel emo about a relationship ending this is the song. Hope things get better soon.

I'm really sorry to hear that Becca. I've had some of that going on in the last few years, I know how hard it is. That song is the best when it comes to dwelling on that feeling.
Thanks. I'm really sorry you're going through it too. I think it'd especially hard because nobody really talks about how painful it is. It's not like relationship breakups.
I was googling "songs about friendships ending" because that's how sad I am about it and found these but I'm still open to more suggestions, haha.

That second one is really good.
.
I love saves the day, old brand new, the original emo (rites of spring, city of caterpillar, heroin).. not songs about friends per see but, i guess its a straight emo thread now
These are all kind of vague, and have a mildly romantic feel to them, but I think that's because I've spent the last year dealing with a lot of changes in my life revolving around the idea of "romantic friendships."
Told slant slant is great like you were saying.
Also get up kids- 4 min miles my jam
My first friends I made where before I was born. Long story skrta edited) our parents met at a mommy and me center. They became the best of friends. Right up till my mom died.but this is about me..
Us kids (i, john, bailey. We did everything together (puberty, the torture of middle school, sexual experimentation, the ridiculous popularity bullshit, even before that,we grew up togetger. Soon as they find out im shooting dope they never say a word to me. Ive poured my eyes out typing emails. It's a new type of pain that should be distinctly labeled. I miss them everyday. I'm in a shelter and if I walk a block to the water I see Manhattan and there apartments (there clearly well off) which is neither here not there. It just forced me to look up at all my mistakes
I'm sorry :(

If you want to talk about Brand New, Ryan, I'm your man. I don't think these are the types of friendship ending songs that Becca is wanting but you mentioned Brand New so here we go.

And the response from John Nolan (guitarist/backup singer/songwriter for Taking Back Sunday who are better than people will admit).

For me brand new doesn't have any tinge of nostalgia and I dont really know any of their lyrics. When they dropped I was a stupid punk. Playing in this kid (well we were like 13 maybe) punk band. Didn't fuck with "emo", they used to laugh at me for even entertaining later day Rollins black flag which I still love.. anyway. Around college I don't give a fuck anymore, I like what I like who cares and if they do fuck them, type of stage. I was real into pop punk. And Deja etunda (sorry I'm buterchin it) sounded sorta like awesome pop punk but different and now I love them. Looking forward to the rest of life's twists n turns
My favorite 99-2003 ish "emo" band is and was saves the day. Stay what you are, through being cool are amazimg. And my favorite song by them at this moment in time is - sell my clothes im off to heaven
